REQUEST FOR ASHOK CHAKRA AWARD FOR CAPT SMIT MACHHAR - TO PRESIDENT OF INDIA

Subject: Request for conferment of the Ashoka Chakra upon Captain Smith Machhar and grant of lifelong welfare benefits in recognition of his extraordinary courage and exemplary service

Respected Hon’ble President,

I most respectfully wish to draw your kind attention to the extraordinary courage, presence of mind and selfless sense of duty displayed by Captain Smith Machhar in the face of an exceptionally grave and challenging situation. His conduct represents the highest traditions of courage, responsibility and service to humanity. Acts of such exceptional bravery deserve not merely appreciation, but recognition at the highest national level so that they may serve as an enduring inspiration for generations of Indians.

In view of the exceptional courage displayed by Captain Smith Machhar, I humbly request that the Government of India may kindly consider the following:

1. Conferment of the Ashoka Chakra upon Captain Smith, subject to the applicable criteria and due process, in recognition of his exceptional courage and devotion to duty.

2. A State or National Public Felicitation in his honour so that his contribution and bravery may receive the public recognition they deserve.

3. Lifelong complimentary air travel, travel on Indian Railways and State Road Transport for Captain Smith and his immediate family.

4. Complete Free educational support for his children, including appropriate assistance for higher education, so that the family of a person who has rendered such distinguished service to the nation receives lasting institutional support.

5. Lifelong medical support and healthcare facilities for Captain Smith and his immediate family through Government hospitals and other designated healthcare institutions.

Such measures would not only constitute a fitting expression of national gratitude towards Captain Smith and his family, but would also send a powerful message that India honours and stands by those who demonstrate extraordinary courage, selflessness and devotion to duty.

A nation is strengthened when exceptional acts of courage are remembered and honoured. Recognition of Captain Smith at the highest level would inspire citizens, professionals and future generations to uphold the same values of courage, responsibility and service.

I therefore most respectfully request Your Excellency to kindly consider this representation and have the matter examined by the appropriate authorities for suitable national recognition and welfare measures.
