India - AI Impact Summit, 2026

● India will host the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 on February 19 to 20, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The summit is being organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the India AI Mission. It is the first global AI summit to be hosted by a Global South nation, highlighting India’s growing leadership in artificial intelligence.

The main objective of the summit is to shift the global AI discussion from only governance and safety to measurable, inclusive and real world impact particularly for developing countries and the Global South.

● The summit is guided by three core principles “Summit Sutras”:

1. People: AI should serve all people inclusively, respect cultural and linguistic diversity and ensure accessibility for everyone.

2. Planet: AI development should be resource-efficient, environmentally friendly and aligned with sustainability and climate goals.

3. Progress: The benefits of AI should be shared equitably, with open access to data, computing resources and AI applications in key sectors like health, agriculture and governance.

These Sutras will be implemented through seven thematic Chakras, focusing on cooperation and practical outcomes:

1. Human Capital

2. Inclusion

3. Safe and Trusted AI

4. Resilience

5. Science and Innovation

6. Democratization of AI Resources

7. Social Good

● Alongside the summit, MeitY will launch eight indigenous AI foundational model projects. These focus on Multilingual AI, Healthcare, Scientific research, Industrial applications, Governance and Agriculture. The aim is to build self-reliant, India-specific AI solutions.

● The summit’s logo is inspired by the Ashoka Chakra, symbolising ethical governance, trust and AI’s transformative role across languages and industries.
