Eligibility
To apply for the CLAT LLM entrance test, a candidate must possess either a 3-year degree in law or a 5-year integrated programme with a minimum 50% aggregate marks for candidates who belong to the General, OBC, and NRI categories and 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Final year LLB students who are waiting for the exam results scheduled in April or May 2026 can also apply for the exam, but they have to provide the certificate of graduation at the time of LLM admission. Exam Pattern of CLAT LLM
The CLAT LLM exam pattern is fully comprehension-based. The LLM exam has a total of 120 multiple-choice questions, and all questions are based on legal passages that are drawn from statutes, judgments, or legal analysis. Candidates have 120 minutes to complete the paper. For every correct answer, one mark is awarded, and for each incorrect answer, 0.25 is deducted.
